Pain of Salvation — шведская музыкальная группа, исполняющая Progressive Metal. Была создана Даниэлем Гильденлёвом под названием Reality в 1984 году в городе Эскильстуна, Швеция. В 1991 году получила своё нынешнее название. По состоянию на 2020 год группа выпустила 11 студийных альбомов, каждый из которых является концептуальным — то есть все композиции альбома объединены некоторой общей идеей.
За время существования группы в ней принимало участие большое количество музыкантов. На данный момент Pain of Salvation включает четырёх участников: бессменного вокалиста, гитариста и автора песен Даниэля Гильденлёва, гитариста Йохана Халгрена, ударника Лео Маргарита и Даниэля «D2» Карлссона, играющего на клавишных.
Вслед за релизом нового студийного альбома 2020 го года “Panther” Pain Of Salvation анонсировали переиздание диска “The Perfect Element, Pt. I” (2000). Поскольку этому альбому исполняется 20 лет, переиздание озаглавлено “The Perfect Element, Pt. I (Anniversary Mix 2020)” и увидело свет 20 ноября 2020 года на лейбле InsideOutMusic.
В 2016 году PAIN OF SALVATION с большим успехом ремикшировали классический альбом “Remedy Lane” (2002), а теперь той же процедуре подвергся его предшественник “The Perfect Element, Pt. I”. Весь материал третьего студийного диска группы был ремикширован Pontus Lindmark, а мастеринг сделал Thor Legvold в студии Sonovo. Также релиз имеет слегка переработанное оформление и комментарии в буклете.
