Сан-Франциская группа Dragonlord - это блэк-металлический сайд-проект гитариста и одного из основателей легендарных Testament Эрика Петерсона, созданный для того, чтоб воплотить музыкальные идеи, не вписывающиеся в рамки своей основной группы.
В 2000 году Эрик образовал формацию Dragonheart. В её состав, кроме Петерсона (гитара, вокал) вошли: гитарист Steve Smyth (ex-Vicious Rumors, ex-Testament, Nevermore), клавишник Lyle Livingston (Psypheria), драммер Jon Allen (Sadus, ex-Testament) и басист Steve DiGiorgio (Testament, Death, Sadus, Control Denied). Чуть позже группа была переименована в Dragonlord.
В феврале 2001 звёздный состав отправился в студию для записи дебютного "Rapture". Все тексты и музыка, кроме "Vals De La Muerte", были написаны Эриком. Материал вышел в июле на Spitfire Records и представлял из себя быстрый, тяжелый и агрессивный блэк-метал с разнообразным вокалом и трэшевыми гитарами. 2001 - Rapture [Spitfire Records, SPITCD167, Germany]
