CREMATORY – одни из первопроходцев плодородной европейской готик-металлической сцены 90-х. Они начали свое существование в 1991 году, играя радикальный дэт-метал, но затем дополнили свой арсенал элементами готики и индастриала. За свою 28-летнию карьеру коллектив, ядром которого являются оригинальные участники Markus Jüllich (барабаны) и Феликс Штасс (вокал), выпустил 14 студийных альбомов, три концертника, различные компиляции и сплиты, а также отыграл сотни концертов по всему миру.
Предыдущий альбом CREMATORY "Oblivion" был издан 13 апреля 2018 года на лейбле Steamhammer / SPV. Он стал одним из самых успешных релизов группы в немецких чартах, добравшись до 36-й строчки. Единственным альбомом CREMATORY, забравшимся выше, до сих пор является “Believe” (2000), на тот момент позиционировавшийся как прощальный релиз группы. Он достиг 34-го места немецкого национального хит-парада.
16-й студийный альбом "Inglorious Darkness" вышел 27 мая 2022 года на лейбле Napalm.
Группа решила не искать замену гитаристу и чистоголосому вокалисту Connie Andreszka, который ушел из нее в августе прошлого года. Все партии гитар на альбоме сыграл Rolf Munkes, а все партии вокала исполнил Felix Stass.
"Inglorious Darkness" под завязку забит мрачными гимнами, сразу же вызывающими отклик у слушателя. Помимо 10 новых песен, в альбом вошла композиция "Tränen der Zeit", которая представляет собой немецкоязычную версию классической песни “Tears Of Time”, до сих пор пользующейся колоссальной популярностью на концертах группы.
