Razor (с англ.— «Бритва») — канадская трэш/спид-метал группа, основанная гитаристом Дейвом Карло в 1983 году в Гуэлфе, провинция Онтарио. Вместе с такими группами как Annihilator, Voivod и Exciter, Razor возглавляет канадское трэш-движение и является одним из ведущих коллективов в жанре трэш-метал в Канаде.
Пик активности группы пришелся на середину 1980-х, когда в период с 1985 по 1988 год включительно, коллектив выпустил 5 студийных альбомов, представляющих классический трэш-метал. Всего же в период с 1984-го по 1997 год, группой записано и выпущено 8 студийных альбомов, 1 мини-альбом, 3 демо и 1 компиляция.
Razor распались в 1992 году, но конце 1990-х группа собралась вновь и выпустила альбом "Decibels" (1997). Затем группа снова прекратила свою деятельность и вернулась к жизни лишь в 2005 году.
В апреле 2012 года гитаристу RAZOR Дэйву Карло (Dave Carlo) был поставлен диагноз “рак ротовой полости во второй стадии”. Музыкант сразу же начал курс лечения.
Как заявил в 2015 году сайту Blabbermouth.net басист Майк Кампаньоло (Mike Campagnolo), группа “работает над материалом для нового альбома, и мы были поражены этой новостью, но сам Дэйв пребывает в хорошем расположении духа”.
В том же 2015 году RAZOR объявили о переиздании трех своих классических альбомов конца 80-х и начала 90-х на лейбле Relapse. Альбомы "Violent Restitution" (1988), "Shotgun Justice" (1990) и "Open Hostility" (1991), тираж которых давно закончился прошли, полный ремастеринг и переизданы с расширенным оформлением, а также с ранее не издававшимися бонус-треками, среди которых концертные записи, демо-версии, репетиционные записи и ранее не публиковавшиеся треки.
