Face Down Hero были образованы в 2004 году. Под влиянием классического Bay Area (название группа взяла из песни Forbidden) и современного трэша FDH выработали свой собственный узнаваемый почерк (Melodic Modern Thrash Metal).
Примечательна приверженность банды одной мелкой студии звукозаписи, названной в честь уже почившего кота Йохана. На третьем альбоме "Of Storytellers And Gunfellas" впервые обозначился некоторый перекос в технические дебри, что полностью и подтвердил их четвертый альбом
